FRANK’IN “YENİDEN DOĞU”SU ÜZERİNE DÜŞÜNCELER

Abstract

This article deals with Andre Gunder Frank’s book named ReORIENT: Global Economy in Asian Age. After a brief introduction of the contents of the book, Frank’s new view-points are discussed in detail. During this discussion Frank’s arguments on World history are compared with the regional studies, such as Central Asian and Chinese studies. At the end, some comments are made on Frank’s new approach to the 16th-19th centuries World history which can be summarized as a non-West-centered (indeed Chinese-centered) macro-history.
