A Complete Design Methodology for Inbound Logistics System by Independence Axiom
Abstract
Dimensions of logistics can be considered in four ways. These are inbound, in-plant, outbound, and reverse logistics. In this paper, a complete design for inbound logistics activities is performed using axiomatic Design principles. AD provides a scientific basis for design activities. Unlike traditional design methods, AD minimizes overprocessing waste, which occurs when the current design does not match the customer requirements. This study aims to create a complete design structure for inbound logistics systems using the independence axiom method, one of the axiomatic design approaches. Within the scope of the article, a complete inbound logistics system design structure has been proposed using the independence axiom approach regarding the organization of suppliers, the collection of materials from suppliers in the most optimal way, the supply of necessary resources, and the construction of an operation structure based on the flow and pull system. When creating hierarchical design structures, design validity is ensured by using current literature.
