Kenevir Dokumacılığının Sürdürülebilir Kültürel Miras Bağlamında Yeniden Canlandırılması: Samsun Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Samsun Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kenevir ve İpek Dokuma Atölyesi örneğinden hareketle kenevir dokumacılığının somut olmayan kültürel miras (SOKÜM) unsuru olarak sürdürülebilir turizm, kadın emeği ve yerel kalkınma bağlamlarında nasıl değerlendirilebileceğini ortaya koymaktır. Nitel araştırma yöntemi çerçevesinde yürütülen araştırmada, 2021–2024 yılları arasında yayımlanan sekiz haber metnine doküman analizi uygulanmış, elde edilen veriler tematik analiz yaklaşımıyla çözümlenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen temalar arasında kültürel mirasın yeniden canlandırılması, kadınların toplumsal ve ekonomik güçlenmesi, sürdürülebilir üretim zinciri, kültürel ürünlerin turizme entegrasyonu ve yerel kalkınma–marka şehir vizyonu öne çıkmaktadır. Bulgular, kenevir dokumacılığının kültürel sürekliliğin bir göstergesi olmanın ötesinde, ekonomik ve çevresel sürdürülebilirliği destekleyen yenilikçi bir üretim biçimi olarak yeniden işlev kazandığını göstermektedir. Araştırma sonucunda, kenevir dokumacılığının kültürel, çevresel ve ekonomik boyutlarıyla birlikte değerlendirilmesinin, SOKÜM değerlerinin korunmasına ve sürdürülebilir turizm uygulamalarının güçlendirilmesine katkı sunduğu belirlenmiştir.

Çalışma, amacı ve yöntemi itibariyle etik komisyon izni gerektirmeyen bir çalışmadır. Çalışmada kullanılan tüm veriler açık kaynaklı, kamuya açık belgelerden elde edilmiştir. Verilerin yorumlanmasında bilimsel etik kuralları çerçevesinde hareket edilerek öznel yargılarından kaçınılmış, temalar doğrudan belge içerikleri üzerinden oluşturulmuştur.

Revitalization of Hemp Weaving within the Context of Sustainable Cultural Heritage: The Case of Samsun

Abstract

The aim of this study is to reveal how hemp weaving can be evaluated as an element of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in the context of sustainable tourism, women's labor, and local development, based on the example of the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Hemp and Silk Weaving Workshop. Conducted within the framework of qualitative research methods, the study applied document analysis to eight news articles published between 2021 and 2024, and the data obtained were analyzed using a thematic analysis approach. The themes identified in the study include the revitalization of cultural heritage, the social and economic empowerment of women, sustainable production chains, the integration of cultural products into tourism, and local development–brand city vision. The findings show that hemp weaving has regained its function as an innovative form of production that supports economic and environmental sustainability, beyond being an indicator of cultural continuity. The research concluded that evaluating hemp weaving in terms of its cultural, environmental, and economic dimensions contributes to the preservation of ICH values and the strengthening of sustainable tourism practices.

In interpreting the data, scientific ethical rules were followed to avoid subjective judgments, and themes were developed directly from the document contents.
