Abstract
İmalat sektöründe ortaya çıkmış olan Toplam Kalite Yönetimi (TKY) ilkelerinin eğitime uygulanması sırasında çeşitli zorluklar ve yanıtlanması gereken bazı önemli sorular ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırmalar, TKY uygulamalarının akademik çalışanlar tarafından bürokrasi ve bilimsel özgürlüğe tehdit olarak algılanabildiğini ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca yüksek eğitimde “müşteri kimdir?”, “paydaşlar kimdir?”, “kaliteyi kim belirler?” gibi yanıtı kişiden kişiye değişen sorular karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu makalede Türkiye ve başka ülkelerde yüksek eğitimde TKY uygulamaları ele alınarak ortaya çıkabilen zorluklar açıklanacak ve bazı önemli soruların yanıtları bulunmaya çalışılacaktır
