Abstract

The value of faith of taqlid is one of the subjects discussed in classical Islamic tradition. The center of these debates which discusses functioning of the mind, autonomy of people and relationship of faith in information is at the necessity of rational justification and the verdict of muqallid?s faith. The Mutazilite, which is rational face of traditional Islam, and the Kharijites have agreed that taqlid is superstition. Their estimation rely on the principle of ?murtekib-i kebire.? On the contrary the Maturidi, Ashari and Shia School have accepted that the faith of taqlid is genuine or valid. This is due to the etymology of faith. What is more, while the vast majority of people are living in a taqlid calling them infidel, requires a great responsibility for ethereal. However, the rich concept of faith has emerged from verses of the Qur'an. The assent by mind/heart, logical proof, the love of Allah and the Messenger of Allah and the verbs from heart, such as hope for mercy of Allah are the basic elements that make up the concept of faith. Simply, taqlid can?t satisfy the depth of the faith, so faith of taqlid should be discussed and questioned.
