Kitabın farklı diplomatik alanları ve dönemleri irdeleyen ve alanında uzman isimlerce yazılmış bölümleri, genelde erken modern diplomasi tarihine, özelde Osmanlı diplomasi tarihine önemli katkılar sunarak, kitaba mevzubahis alanlar için bir referans kaynak olma hüviyeti kazandırmaktadır.
