This is a review of Gábor Ágoston’s book: The Last Muslim Conquest: The Ottoman Empire and Its Wars in Europe, in which he examines Ottoman war strategy, military technology, the administration and logistics of military campaigns, diplomacy and intelligence gathering techniques both in the context of the Ottoman and Habsburg Empires and in a broader perspective. One of the important goals of the book is to show how the Ottoman Empire shaped Europe, especially in the Balkans. It will be a reference book for Ottoman historians, students of history, and anyone interested in the Ottoman Empire.
