Abstract
The simile has an important place in terms of rhetoric. Simile means likening something to another through a preposition because of their common feature. The simile has an important mission, especially in expressing the feelings and thoughts of the literati. There are four elements of the simile, namely musabbeh (resembling), musabbeh bih (likened), vechu's-sebeh (resembling direction), edatu't-tashbih (simile preposition). In addition, there are more than one type of simile. One of them is representation simile. Representational simile is also different from other simile types. In this type of simile, there is an analogy of the situation to the situation. The simile direction consists of more than one element and it consists of a shape. In this article, we will examine the examples of representation simile of Mustafa Lutfi al-Manfalûtî (1876-1974), one of the leading writers in Egypt, in his work al-Nazarât. We will examine these examples in terms of resembling, likened, simile preposition and simile direction and try to determine for what purposes Manfalûtî used representation similes.

Abstract
Teşbihin belâgat açısından önemli bir yeri vardır. Teşbih, bir şeyi aralarındaki ortak özellikten dolayı bir edat aracılığıyla başka bir şeye benzetmek anlamına gelmektedir. Teşbih özellikle de edebiyatçıların duygu ve düşüncelerini ifade etmesinde önemli bir misyona sahiptir. Teşbihin müşebbeh (benzeyen), müşebbeh bih (benzetilen), vechü’ş-şebeh (benzeme yönü), edâtü’t teşbih (teşbih edatı) olmak üzere dört unsuru vardır. Bunun yanı sıra teşbihin birden fazla çeşidi vardır. Bunlardan birisi de teşbih-i temsildir. Teşbih-i temsilde diğer teşbih çeşitlerinden farklı olarak durumun duruma benzetilmesi söz konusudur. Benzetme yönü ise birden fazla unsurdan meydana gelmektedir ve bir şekilden oluşmaktadır. Bu makalemizde Mısır’ın önde gelen yazarlarından Mustafa Lutfî el-Menfelûtî’nin (1876-1974) en-Nazarât adlı eserindeki teşbih-i temsil örneklerini inceleyeceğiz. Bu örnekleri benzeyen, benzetilen, teşbih edatı ve benzetme yönü bakımından inceleyip, Menfelûtî’nin teşbih-i temsilleri hangi amaçlar için kullandığını tespit etmeye çalışacağız.
