Spor Kulübü Yöneticilerinin İmpostor Sendromu Düzeylerinin Belirlenmesi

Year 2024, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 12 - 24, 16.07.2024

Abstract

Determining The Impostor Syndrome Levels Of Sports Club Managers

Year 2024, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 12 - 24, 16.07.2024

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the levels of impostor syndrome among sports club managers.
Method: The survey method was used to collect the research data. A total of 204 male sports managers from amateur and professional football clubs participated in the study. A personal information form and the Impostor Profile Scale-31 (IPP31) were used to collect the research data.
Results: According to the findings of the study, there were no significant differences in impostor syndrome levels among the groups based on education level (p=0.205), total working time in management (p=0.103), and their role in the club (p=0.170). However, the results of the ANOVA analysis based on the age variable indicated a significant difference (p=0.000).
Conclusion: As a result, it was understood that younger managers (25 years old and under) experienced more impostor syndrome compared to managers aged 26 and older. Therefore, it can be said that younger managers exhibited more impostor syndrome symptoms due to the effect of the experience factor.
