Author Guidelines
1. General Information Korkut Ata Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published biannually (June and December) by Osmaniye Korkut Ata University. The publication language of the journal is exclusively English. The journal does not charge any fees for article submission, processing, peer-review, or publication. All published articles are made freely available to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
2. Manuscript Types The journal accepts the following types of scientific contributions:
- Original Research Articles: Comprehensive reports of data from original research.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive evaluations of specific topics based on current literature.
- Technical Notes: Brief reports on new methods, techniques, or equipment.
- Editorial/Invited Papers: Invited contributions deemed appropriate by the Editorial Board.
3. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted online through the DergiPark system. During submission:
- All metadata (title, abstract, keywords) must be accurately and consistently entered into the system.
- The use of ORCID IDs is mandatory for all authors to ensure accurate attribution.
- Authors must ensure their manuscript complies with the journal's formatting and ethical standards before submission.
4. Manuscript Structure and Formatting
- Title Page: Must include the manuscript title, authors' full names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, ORCID numbers, and the identification of the corresponding author.
- Abstract: A single paragraph of 150-250 words summarizing the background, methodology, results, and conclusions. It must not contain references or undefined abbreviations.
- Keywords: 3 to 5 keywords accurately reflecting the manuscript's content.
- Main Text: Generally structured into Introduction, Materials and Methods (or Theoretical Framework/Numerical Methodology), Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
- References: Must be formatted according to APA consistently throughout the text.
5. Ethical Responsibilities and Declarations In accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) principles, authors must adhere to the highest academic integrity standards:
- Originality and Plagiarism: Manuscripts undergo similarity checks before the review process. Plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publications will result in immediate rejection.
- Ethical Approval: For studies involving human or animal subjects, explicit ethical committee approval and informed consent documents must be provided.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be viewed as a potential conflict of interest.
- Author Contribution: A statement detailing the specific contributions of each author is required.
6. Peer-Review Process All submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary editorial review. Suitable manuscripts are then subjected to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent field experts. The peer-review process is conducted strictly based on scientific merit, methodological adequacy, and contribution to the literature, maintaining confidentiality and editorial independence.
