ERHAN BENER’İN KEDİ VE ÖLÜM’Ü İLE SIDONIE GABRIELLE COLETTE’NİN DİŞİ KEDİ ADLI ESERLERİNDE İZLEKSEL AÇIDAN KEDİ İMGESİ

Abstract

Türk edebiyatında, özellikle romanlarıyla ön plana çıkan yazarlardan biri olan Erhan Bener, Kedi ve Ölüm adlı eserinde psikolojik gerilim tarzında bir kurgu yaratır. Ölümcül bir hastalığı olduğunu öğrenen ressam Zahit İloğlu’nun kalan üç aylık süreçteki tüm yaşamını, yaşamla ölüm arasındaki çekişmelerini bir kedi izleği ile zirveye taşıyarak anlatır. Bener’in, söz konusu izleği bir kedi imgesi üzerinden ele aldığı bu eser, ölüm ve ölüm korkusunun farklı yansımaları açısından hem soyut hem de somut düzlemde dikkat çeker. Fransız edebiyatının aykırı sesi ve 20. yüzyılın önde gelen kadın yazarlarından biri olarak bilinen Sidonie Gabrielle Colette’nin Dişi Kedi adlı romanı ise genç bir erkek ile genç bir kadın arasındaki ilişkinin gerilimlerini tüm derinliğiyle işler; yazar, bir erkek, bir kadın ve dişi bir kedi ekseninde oluşan kıskançlık üçgenini dişi bir kedi imgesi üzerinden anlatmaya çalışır.   Bu çalışmada, izleksel açıdan kedi imgesini anlatılarının merkezine yerleştiren Bener ile Colette’nin söz konusu eserlerinin karşılaştırılması amaçlanmaktadır.   İzleksel açıdan kedi imgesi, eserlerin anlamsal dokusunun oluşmasına büyük katkı sağladığı ve çalışma, esere yönelik gerçekleştirileceği için arketipçi inceleme yöntemi kullanılacaktır.

THE IMAGE OF CAT: A THEMATIC APPROACH TO THE WORKS OF ERHAN BENER’S THE CAT AND DEATH AND SIDONIE GABRIELLE COLETTE’S THE FEMALE CAT

Abstract

In Turkish literature, Erhan Bener is one of the
outstanding writers especially with his novels. He creates a fiction
in a psychological thriller style in his novel called The Cat and
Death. He impressively narrates the whole life in the remaining
three-months period of Zahit İloğlu, who comes to know his
terminal illness and his conflicts between life and death with a cat
theme. This novel, in which Bener handles the theme via a “cat”
image draws attention in both tangible and intangible context
regarding different reflections of death and fear of death. The novel
called The Female Cat of Sidonie Gabrielle Colette, known as the
unusual voice of French literature and one of the outstanding
woman writers of the 20th century, deeply discourses tensions of
the relationship between a young woman and a young man; the
writer tries to explain the triangle of jealousy which occurs in the
axis of a man, a woman and a female cat via a female cat image.
The aim of this study is to compare the works of Bener and
Colette, who place cat image in the centre of their works in terms
of thematic approach. Since, cat image in terms of thematic
approach makes a major contribution to the formation of semantic
texture of the works and the study will be carried out with the help
of text-oriented approach, archetypal literary criticism method will
be used
