Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, one of the commentators of the 20th century, in his works he collected under the name of Risale-i Nur Collection, interpreted the verses about Tawhid, Prophethood, Hereafter and Justice, which are the main subjects of the Qur’an in general. These works can be considered as “thematic tafsir” as they deal with faith issues, or they can also be evaluated as theological or theological tafsir because they focus more on theological issues. His tafsir, İşârâtü’l-İʻcâz fi Mezânni’l-Îcâz, was written in thes tyle of classical tafsir and mainly deals with the aspect of iʻjaz in the verse of the Qur'an, Surah Fatiha and Surah Al-Baqara 1-32. It is a work in which the verses are interpreted in order. While Nursi’s Works show many original features in terms of style and content, they are also original in style and composition. These Works were mostly written in the mountains, in the country side, in prisons, under difficult conditions. The commentary on Isharat al-İʻjâz, on the other hand, was written in a very different environment, on the battlefield, in a situation where he expected to be a martyr at any moment. The main reason that prompted Nursi to write this work is the negative words of British Colonial Minister Gladiston about the Qur'an. In an environment where the attacks on the Qur’an increased, Nursi started to write a tafsir based on iʻjaz, stating that iʻjaz is an armor that protects him, but he was able to write only one volume. In this article, various and original aspects of Isharat al-İʻjâz tafsir have been tried to be revealed by using the method of documentary analysis.
