BANKA KREDİ HACMİ İLE İKTİSADİ BÜYÜME ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ: TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada
mevduat bankaları kredi hacmi ile ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi analiz edilmektedir.
Bu amaçla Türkiye için 2003:I-2017:III dönemi verileri kullanılarak, Pesaran,
Shin & Smith (2001) tarafından geliştirilen gecikmesi dağıtılmış
otoregresif sınır testine dayalı yöntem ile öncelikle mevduat bankaları toplam
kredi hacmi ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki eşbütünleşme ilişkisi incelenmiştir.
Ayrıca mevduat bankaları, kamu ve özel sermayeli bankalar olarak ayrılarak
bankaların mülkiyet yapısının bu ilişkiye etkisi ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın
sonucunda uzun dönemde mevduat bankaları toplam kredi hacmindeki artışın GSYH
üzerinde negatif etkide bulunduğu, ancak kısa dönemde söz konusu etkinin
pozitif olduğu görülmüştür. Kamu bankaları için de benzer sonuçlara
ulaşılırken, özel bankalar açısından uzun dönem etkinin pozitif, kısa dönem etkinin
ise negatif olduğu saptanmıştır.
