Toplumsal Varlığın Poetik Ontolojisine Dair

Abstract

Bu metinde Gadamer şairlerin sustuğunu değil, sessizleştiklerini ya da bekleyişi merkeze aldıklarını iddia eder. Bu şiirin sona erdiğini söylemez ya da Adorno gibi artık bir barbarlık olduğunu. Çağın gürültüsü, poetik ontolojik olanın unutulduğuna işaret eder. Dolayısıyla felsefî düşünüş unutulmuştur. Verstummen die Dichter? sorusu, şairlerin gerçekten susup susmadığını değil, bizim onları duyabilecek kulaklarımızın olup olmadığı sorusudur. Söz ile poetik söz arasında bir ayrım yapacak olursak, Verstummen saklı kalmış anlamı korumak, açığa çıkmasını sağlamaktır. Burada da devreye Fügung terimi girmektedir. Neden-sonuç ilişkisinden, tesadüfî olandan ve kaderden farklı olarak bir bağlanış, bir duyusallık içerir ki, burada Gadamer kendi pozisyonunu ortaya koymaktadır. Kavramsal şiire bizi hazırlayan bir şiirden bahsetmez Hegel gibi. Muhatabın bu poetik-olanı dikkatle dinlemesi ve anlaması ortaklığı yeniden kuracak olandır. Burada gelecekten söz edilmez; şimdi-geçmiş ilişkisine ve şimdideki tanıklığa müracaat edilir. Aynı düşünüş Fichte, Hegel ve Collingwood’da vardır. Tanık olunan şeyle sessiz kalış etik bir sorumluluğa götürür. Ancak tarihte olduğu gibi şiirde de kavramsallıktan bahsedilebilir. Bunu Gadamer’den bahsedemeyiz elbette; şiirde de tarihte de ilerleyen bir bilgi olarak felsefi tutum Hegel’i akla getirir. Gadamer’de ilerlemeci bir düşünce bulunmamaktadır.

On the Poetic Ontology of Social Being

Abstract

In this text, Gadamer does not claim that poets have fallen silent; rather, he argues that they have become quieter or have taken waiting as a central stance. He does not say that poetry has come to an end, nor—like Adorno—that it has become a form of barbarism. The noise of the age points instead to a forgetting of the poetic-ontological dimension. Consequently, philosophical thinking itself has been forgotten. The question Are the poets falling silent? (Verstummen die Dichter?) does not ask whether poets are truly silent, but whether we still possess ears capable of hearing them. If we distinguish between ordinary speech and poetic speech, Verstummen signifies not the disappearance of meaning but its preservation –allowing concealed meaning to remain intact and potentially to come into presence. At this point, the concept of Fügung comes into play. Unlike causal necessity, mere chance, or fate, Fügung denotes a form of attunement and binding that involves sensibility; here Gadamer clearly articulates his own philosophical position. Unlike Hegel, Gadamer does not speak of a poetry that prepares us for conceptual thought. Rather, it is the interlocutor’s careful listening to and understanding of the poetic dimension that re-establishes commonality. There is no appeal to the future here; instead, the emphasis lies on the relation between past and present and on witnessing in the present moment. A similar mode of thinking can be found in Fichte, Hegel, and Collingwood. Bearing witness to what is encountered, together with remaining silent, leads to an ethical responsibility. As in history, one can also speak of conceptuality in poetry. However, we cannot speak of this in Gadamer’s sense; the idea of philosophical thought as progressive knowledge –whether in history or in poetry– recalls Hegel. Gadamer, by contrast, does not uphold a progressive conception of thought.
