Çevre alanındaki dijital ikiz çalışmalarının bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi ile incelenmesi

Abstract

Dijital ikiz, son yıllarda çeşitli alanlarda araştırılan önemli bir çalışma konusu olmuştur. Çevre alanında ise henüz gelişmekte olan bir alandır. Bu çalışmada, çevre alanında dijital ikiz konulu çalışmaların literatürdeki gelişim süreci ve mevcut hâlinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi kullanılarak, 03.03.2025 tarihinde Web of Science Core Collection veri tabanında “dijital ikiz” (digital twin) kavramına ilişkin taramalar yapılmıştır. Veri tabanında filtreleme yapmadan dijital ikiz (digital twin) kavramı ile ilgili toplamda 16.145 tane çalışma tespit edilmiştir, ardından odak noktalara ulaşabilmek için filtreleme yapılmıştır. Çalışma türleri içerisinden özellikle çevre çalışmaları (190) ve çevre bilimleri (376) alanlarında yayımlanan 408 makale ele alınmıştır. Çalışmaların alan dağılımı sıralaması incelendiğinde 376 adet çalışma ile en fazla çalışmanın çevre bilimleri alanında konu ile ilgili araştırmalara ulaşılmaktadır. Ülkeler bağlamında ise en fazla çalışmanın %32,8’lik oran ile Çin tarafından gerçekleştirildiği tespit edilmiştir. Anahtar kelime analizi sonucunda ise 1568 anahtar kelime içerisinde 62 kelimenin daha fazla kullanıldığı görülmüştür. Bu alandaki güncel çalışma konularının ise sürdürülebilirlik, akıllı şehir, kentsel planlama, döngüsel ekonomi, inşaat endüstrisi, dijital ikiz teknolojisi ve kurumsal dinamikler kelimeleri ile ilişkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bütün bulguların sonucuna göre ise çevre alanında dijital ikiz konusuna ilişkin yapılan çalışmaların artırılması gerektiği ifade edilebilir.

Examination of digital twin studies in the environment field with bibliometric analysis method

Abstract

Digital twin, has become a prominent research topic across various disciplines in recent years; however, its application within the environmental field remains relatively underdeveloped. This study aims to assess the developmental trajectory and current state of digital twin research in the environmental domain through bibliometric analysis. 03.03.2025, a comprehensive search was conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection database using the term “digital twin.” Initially, 16.145 publications were identified without any filters. Subsequently, to focus on relevant studies, filtering was applied to select works within Environmental Studies (190) and Environmental Sciences (376), resulting in a total of 408 articles for analysis. Disciplinary distribution analysis revealed that Environmental Sciences accounted for the majority of publications, with 376 articles. Country-based analysis indicated that China contributed the highest proportion of research, representing 32.8 % of the total publications. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identified 62 frequently occurring keywords among 1.568 total keywords. Prominent research themes include sustainability, smart cities, urban planning, circular economy, construction industry, digital twin technology, and institutional dynamics. These findings collectively suggest the need to enhance research efforts on digital twins within the environmental field to address emerging challenges and expand the academic literature.
