7. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Otomatik Düşüncelerinin Bazı Değişkenler Açısından İncelenmesi

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin otomatik düşünce düzeyleri ile cinsiyet ve okul türü değişkenine bağlı olarak var olan farklılıkların ortaya konulmasıdır. Çalışma 2019-2020 eğitim öğretim yılında, Kayseri’nin Melikgazi ilçesinde sosyo-ekonomik durum açısından benzer bir ortaokul (112) ve bir imam hatip ortaokulda (54) öğrenim gören toplam 166 7. sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Bu amaçla Hollon ve Kendall (1980) tarafından geliştirilmiş, Türkçe’ye Şahin ve Şahin (1992) tarafından çevrilmiş ve güvenirlik katsayısı 0,93 olan “otomatik düşünceler ölçeği” (ODÖ) kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışma için ölçeğin “Cronbach Alfa” güvenirlik katsayısı 0.96 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde parametrik olmayan testlerden Mann-Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre ortaokul öğrencilerin ODÖ’den herhangi bir değişkene bakılmaksızın aldığı en düşük puan 30 ve en yüksek puan 147 olarak belirlenmiştir. ODÖ puanlarının cinsiyet faktörüne göre anlamlı bir fark oluşturmadığı kaydedilmiştir. Yine bu çalışmaya göre otomatik düşüncelerin okul türüne göre anlamlı ölçüde farklılaştığı tespit edilmiş, imam hatip ortaokulu öğrencilerinin ortaokul öğrencilerine kıyasla daha yüksek otomatik düşünce puanlarına sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.

AUTOMATIC THOUGHTS OF SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS IN TERMS OF SOME VARIABLES

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of gender and the type of school variables on automatic thought levels of seventh grade students. The sample of the study consist 166 students (80 females and 86 males) in similar socioeconomic status, attending secondary schools in Melikgazi district, in the 2019-2020 academic year. In the present study, Automatic Thought Questionnaire was used which developed by Hollon and Kendall (1980), to reveal the automatic thoughts level. ATQ, translated into Turkish by Şahin and Şahin (1992) that reliability coefficient was indicated 0.93. In the present study, Cronbach Alfa coefficient was indicated 0.96. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare differences between variables. The lowest total score received was determined 30 and highest total score was determined 147. In the present study, no gender differences were found. However it was determined that automatic thoughts differ significantly according to the type of school.
