DAĞITIMCI LİDERLİK: OKULLARDA DİKKATE ALINMASI GEREKEN BİR LİDERLİK YAKLAŞIMI

Year 2011, Volume: 12 Issue: 3, 127 - 148, 01.08.2011

Abstract

Distributed Leadership: A Leadership Approach That Should Be Taken Into Account in the Schools

Year 2011, Volume: 12 Issue: 3, 127 - 148, 01.08.2011

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to analyze and explain the distributed leadership approach, on the basis of this theory in relation with other theories and Gronn 2000 , Spillane 2005 and Elmore's 2000 opinions that most well-known advocates of this approach. The second aim of the study is to reflect in light of the results of this analysis to processes of school management's restructuring. A review of the related literature was used to collect from primary and secondary sources information on distributed leadership. In order to be able to do that, with the help of the key words consisted on distributed leadership; electronic data base searched was conducted by the researcher. Resources that collected from the literature were stored in a file and some the articles translated to Turkish. Translation reliability was defined with the help of three English language experts on a sample text. A multi-reference method was preferred to present literature collected. The conceptual analysis and relevant literature showed that the distributed leadership model gained momentum quickly by drawing attention which is similar to improvement in the field of general leadership literature. It is suggested that formal and informal practice aspects of the application of distributed leadership should be taken into consideration in the process of restructuring the school administration
