Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate the educational beliefs of the primary school
teachers’ in terms of several variables. Descriptive scanning model was used in the research.
Working group of the research consisted of 95 primary school teachers. The appropriate
sampling method was used in determining the working group. Personal information form and
educational beliefs scale were used as the data collection tools. Descriptive statistics and
multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) were used in the analysis of the data. It was
observed as a result of the research that the primary school teachers absolutely agreed on the
subscales of the existentialist education, progressivism and re-constructionism and they agreed
on the idealism and they disagreed on the essentialism in terms of their educational beliefs.
While there were meaningful differences among the teachers relating to the progressivism and
existential education based on the gender, there were not any meaningful differences relating to
the subscales of the educational status and educational beliefs.
