The Relationships Between Self Efficacy Expectations and Personality Traits Wıth Lifelong Learning Tendency

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present pedagogical formation students’ lifelong learning tendencies and determine individualistic characteristics and self-competence expectation predictiveness of them in this tendency. The study group of the research is 352 students having pedagogical formation education at Bartın, Nevşehir and Sakarya Universities. Lifelong Learning Tendency Identification Scale, Personality Test based on Adjectives and Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale has been used in the collection of the data. Frequency distributions, descriptive statistics, t-test and hierarchic regression analysis have been used in the analysis of the data. At the result of the findings, it has been determined that the students are not willing to learn new things continuously and developing themselves. Lifelong learning tendencies of the females have been lower than the males in the results. Also, it has been determined that as emotional imbalance of the individuals and characteristic of openness to experience increase, lifelong learning tendencies also increase.
