Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this study is to adapt the Youth Sport Values Questionnaire (YSVQ-2) develo-ped by Lee, Whitehead, Ntoumanis and Hatzigeorgiadis (2008) into Turkish culture which is frequently used in the literature and to report its psychometric properties. A total of 292 athle-tes , aged between 11 and 18 (M=14.05, SD=1.92) constituted the study group. 175 of them are in secondary school and 107 are in high school. The validity of the YSVQ-2 analyzed with CFA. Fit indices values for all parameters were found to be good or excellent (Chi-square/df=1,79; GFI= 0,94; AGFI= 0,92; CFI= 0,97; NFI= 0,96; RMSEA= 0,05; SRMR= 0,06). In conclusion, it can be said that the data obtained from the Turkish form of YSVQ scale was described by the theoretical structure and reliability coefficients were sufficient to evaluate the value types of youth student athletes.
