DETERMINATION OF MISCONCEPTIONS CONCERNING GENETIC SUBJECTS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’

Year 2006, Volume: 14 Issue: 1, 73 - 82, 01.03.2006

Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine the misconceptions concerning genetic subjects held by high school students. A total 184 students, from Erzurum Anatolia High School, Mehmet Akif Ersoy High School and Nene Hatun Girl High School in Erzurum, was participated in the study. For this aim, text inclunding 17 multiple choice type questions applied to tenth grade and elevent grade students. From obtained data analysis, frequency and percentage values were used. Data indicates that students’ were displayed relatively less number of misconceptions in the responses based on knowledge questions, compared to the questions requires anlysis synthesis and evaluation. When three high schools compared it was found that students in Erzurum Anatolia High School displayed the least number of misconceptions, while Nene Hatun Girls High School’s students had the highest number of misconceptions.

LİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN GENETİKLE İLGİLİ KONULARDAKİ KAVRAM YANILGILARININ SAPTANMASI

Year 2006, Volume: 14 Issue: 1, 73 - 82, 01.03.2006
