Abstract

The research is aimed to find out the students’ conceptions about energy who followed primary school program during eight years. By this way, it will be possible to see to what extent the primary education is able to prepare the students to an upper educational level about energy which is a critical subject regarding both its relation to daily life and construction process in students’ minds. Therefore, 8th grade students attending primary schools were interviewed by using semi structured interview form. The results show that students have incomplete and alternative conceptions about energy that is an important and abstract subject while constructing in their minds.

İLKÖĞRETİM 8. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN ENERJİYLE İLGİLİ GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

Araştırmada, ilköğretim programında sekiz yıl süresince öğrenim gören öğrencilerin enerji konusundaki kavramalarını ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu yolla, temel öğretim sürecinin öğrencileri bir üst öğrenme yaşantılarına “enerji” gibi kritik bir konuda gerek alan bilgisini günlük yaşamla ilişkilendirebilme ve gerekse kavramı doğru yapılandırabilme açısından ne kadar hazırlayabildiği görülebilecektir. İlköğretim öğrenimleri süresince enerji konusunu nasıl algıladıklarını ortaya çıkarmak amaçlandığı için ilköğretim sekizinci sınıf öğrencileriyle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yöntemi ile çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğrencilerin enerji gibi önemli ve soyut bir konuyu zihinlerinde yapılandırmalarında eksiklikler ve alternatifler olduğu görülmüştür.
