Analysis of The Electrical Vehicles Charging Stations into Electrical Distribution Network in Residential Areas

Abstract

The number of electrical vehicles has reached a substantial value all over the globe due to economic and environmental factors. The increasing penetration of EVs to the distribution grids urges the requirement to investigate the impacts of EVs on the planning and operation of distribution networks. Despite the fact that there are numerous studies discussing the impacts of EVs on distribution grids, a particular study concerning the Turkish distribution networks does not enough. It is expected that some problems will occur in the charging process of vehicles with eco-friendly electric vehicles becoming widespread without the necessary infrastructure ready. Differences between installed power and demand power in residential projects. This study focus on the impacts of EVs of low voltage distribution networks in residential areas in Turkey. In this study, Integrated distribution network with real user data and the usage characteristics of the revelaed situations electric vehicle charging stations was modelled and examined. A large-scale use of an EVs charging stations has been developed. A methodology is developed to obtain and present network results based on transformer overloads, cable overloads and grid losses. This methodology will help the decision maker determine the investments on the distribution networks and associated time frame. That will develop the planning mechanism of distribution companies and they will submit more realistic and accurate investment plans to the regulatory agencies.

Konut Bölgelerinde Elektrikli Taşıt Şarj İstasyonlarının Elektrik Şebekesine Entegrasyonunun Analizi

Abstract

Ekonomik ve çevresel etkenler elektrikli taşıt sayısını küresel boyutta önemli bir seviyeye ulaştırmıştır. Bu durum, dağıtım şebekelerinin tasarım ve yönetimi üzerine etkilerinin incelenmesi gerekliliğini zorunlu kılmaktadır. Elektrikli taşıtların dağıtım şebekelerine etkisi üzerine birçok çalışma yapılmasına rağmen, Türkiye dağıtım şebekesine uygulanan çalışmalar çok fazla yapılmamıştır. Çevre dostu olan elektrikli taşıtların gerekli altyapı hazır olmadan yaygınlaşmasıyla birlikte taşıtların şarj işlemlerinde problemlerin ortaya çıkması beklenmektedir. Toplu konut projelerinde kurulu ve talep güçleri arasında ciddi fark bulunmaktadır. Bu farktan dolayı konut bölgeleri içerisinde elektrikli taşıt şarj istasyonu kurulması planlama açısından daha uygun olacaktır. Bu çalışma, konut bölgelerinde elektrikli taşıtların Türkiye alçak gerilim dağıtım şebekelerine entegrasyonu analizi üzerine yoğunlaşmaktadır. Gerçek kullanıcı verileri ile ortaya çıkan durumlara göre elektrikli taşıt şarj istasyonları kullanım karakteristiği entegre edilmiş dağıtım şebekesi modellenip incelenmiştir ve geniş çaplı elektrikli taşıt şarj istasyonu kullanım modeli geliştirilmiştir. Ek olarak, transformatör yüklenmeleri, hat yüklenmeleri ve şebeke kayıplarına dayalı sonuçların elde edilmesi ve sunulması üzerine bir yöntem geliştirilmiştir. Bu yöntem, dağıtım şirketlerinin gerekli yatırımları ve zamanlarını belirlemede yardımcı olacaktır. Dağıtım şirketlerinin planlama mekanizmasını geliştirip dağıtım şirketlerinin daha gerçekçi ve doğru yatırım planlarını düzenleme kuruluna ibraz edebilecektir.
