In the Journal of Black Sea Studies, the evaluation process of the article is carried out by the Double Blind Review method. In case of equality, the opinion of the third referee is taken into consideration. The referees' opinion about the publication is decisive. In this process, the identities of authors and referees are kept confidential.

Pre-evaluation of the articles submitted to the journal is done by the editors. In this process, articles that do not meet the requirements of the publication principles, purpose, scope and principles of conformity with scientific qualifications of the Journal of the Black Sea Studies are not included in the review process. The works accepted by the editors in the preliminary evaluation are directed to the referees simultaneously. Studies receiving positive reports from at least two referees; are queued for publication in the current or later issue according to the date of submission to the journal and the opinion of the Editorial Board.
