HALKLA İLİŞKİLERİN SOSYAL ROLÜ VE LİSANS EĞİTİMİNDE TOPLUMA HİZMET UYGULAMALARI DERSİNİN ÖNEMİ

Öz

Günümüzde halkla ilişkilerden organizasyonlarla kamuları arasındaki ilişkiyi inşa ederken her iki tarafında çıkarlarını gözetecek biçimde faaliyet göstermeleri beklenmektedir. Böylelikle halkla ilişkiler hem organizasyonel hem toplumsal yararı sağlayacak faaliyetler gerçekleştirirken aynı zamanda sosyal bir rol de üstlenmiş olmaktadır. Ancak alanyazında halkla ilişkilerin sosyal rolünün önemine yeteri kadar yer verilmediği görülmektedir. Dolayısıyla halkla ilişkiler eğitiminde bu konuda eksiklikler yer almaktadır. Halkla ilişkiler lisans eğitimi süreci içerisinde öğrencilere verilecek olan Topluma Hizmet Uygulamaları dersi hem halkla ilişkilerin sosyal rolüne ilişkin teorideki eksikliklerin giderilmesi hem de teorinin uygulamaya dökülerek tecrübe kazanılması acısından önemli görülmektedir

THE SOCIAL ROLE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY SERVICE LEARNING COURSE IN PUBLIC RELATIONS BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAM

Öz

Nowadays, public relations are expected to operate in a manner that is beneficial to both sides while building the relationship between organizations and their public. Thus, public relations have a social role while performing activities that will provide both organizational and social benefit. However, it is seen in the literature that the importance of the social role of public relations is not given enough. Therefore, there are deficiencies in this issue in public relations education. The Community Service Learning course, which will be given to the students during public relations under graduate education, is considered important in terms of both entering the deficiencies in the theory about the social role of public relations and gaining experience by putting the theory into practice
