Abstract

This pamphlet was prepared and issued by the Press and
Intelligence Directorate in Ankara in 1923 is such a way as to clearly inform
villagers and public about the stages, principles and way of conducting the
election of parliament members in Turkey. In this pamphlet, detailed
information is given about t
he importance of the elections for the public, the
conditions for being a voter and a deputy, the principles of two-stage
elections, the preparation of the male population registers, the duties and
powers of the inspection committees responsible for making the elections in a
safe, just and lawful manner, the suspension and protection of the voter books,
the method of determination of deputies, where and how the elections will be
held and the actions to be taken after counting the votes
.


Making
this pamphlet, whose aim is to illuminate people so that they can elect people
who are trustworthy, who have served the country, who know the country and its
problems and who are conscious and respected and which is the first in our
Republic history, to our people in today’s Turkish can make contributions to
the creation of conscious voters who can help develop political behaviors and
the operation of the political system and to the development of democracy
. Thus, there is a need to make this pamphlet known to
people.
