Abstract

Irritability has a widespread use in describing and understanding psychopathologies. When the literature is examined, it is seen that there is no scale in Turkish to measure this concept for the adult sample. Therefore, it was aimed to translate the Born-Steiner Irritability Scale: Self-Report Form to Turkish and determine its psychometric properties through validity and reliability analyses. The study sample consists of 463 female volunteers with a mean age of 31.67 (SD = 7.73). Participants completed the Demographic Information Form, Born-Steiner Irritability Scale: Self-Report Form, Buss-Perry Aggression Scale, Spielberger's State Anger Scale, Perceived Stress Scale-14, and Beck Depression Inventory. The data set was divided into two to perform Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and other analyzes were carried out with the whole sample. Finally, for a test-retest reliability analysis, data was collected again after 28 days from 94 people who participated in the first study and volunteered to participate in the second study. As a result of the EFA and CFA carried out, we determined that the scale had a one-factor structure as in the original study. It was concluded that the Cronbach's alpha internal consistency reliability value of the scale was .92, and after the test-retest analysis, it was determined that there was a positive medium-high level relationship between the two applications. Research findings showed that Born-Steiner Irritability Scale: Self-Report Form is a valid and reliable scale.

Born-Steiner Sinirlilik Ölçeği: Öz-Bildirim Formunun Türkçeye uyarlanması: Türkiye kadın örneklemi geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması

Abstract

Katılımcılara Demografik Bilgi Formu, Born-Steiner Sinirlilik Ölçeği: Öz-Bildirim Formu, Buss-Perry Saldırganlık Ölçeği, Spielberger’in Durumluk Öfke Ölçeği, Algılanan Stres Ölçeği-14 ve Beck Depresyon Envanteri uygulanmıştır.
