APPLICABILITY OF EMPOWERMENT IN TURKISH INSURANCE SECTOR
Abstract
In this study examined empowerment, which is a modern management concept and its applicability to insurance companies have been investigated empiricaly. A field study was conducted involving 12 insurance companies that are different scale size. Data collected from the survey were analyzed using parametric and non-parametric statistical techniques. Results show the existence of common empowerment factors from perspective of managers and employees. Therefore can be said that a favorable environment for empowerment in the insurance companies. However, hypothesis testing shows that partially protects the presence of the traditional organization approach.
