ETHICAL PRINCIPLES
1) Journal Publication Ethics
a) Kocatepe Law Journal follows a publication policy based on national and international academic principles and ethical values. In this context, in addition to the principles set forth by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in the Directive on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics, the standards set forth by the internationally recognized COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) constitute the essential elements of the Journal's publication policy. Any other national or international guidelines or standards on publication ethics are accepted as valid by the Journal, unless they contradict the above-mentioned standards.
b) Before, during or at the end of the publication evaluation process within the Journal, the publication requests of the works that are objectively determined to be in violation of the relevant principles and standards are rejected. If such a determination is made with respect to works published in the Journal, the relevant work shall be removed from publication.
2) Obligations of the Editorial Board
a) The editors and assistant editors of the Journal are obliged to fulfill their duties in an objective and impartial manner, free from any prejudice.
b) The editors and assistant editors of the Journal are obliged to act in confidentiality to the extent required by their duties.
c) The editors and assistant editors of the Journal act in full cooperation in all kinds of business and transactions related to the Journal.Fair distribution of tasks within the journal is the essence of cooperation.
3) Obligations of Authors and Arbitrators
a) Authors who wish to have their works published in the Journal are obliged to comply with the provisions of the Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works, the principles set out by YÖK in the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive, the standards set forth by COPE and other principles and standards accepted by the Journal.
b) Authors are deemed to have undertaken that they have prepared their works submitted to the Journal for publication in accordance with the relevant provisions, principles and standards.
c) Referees carefully and promptly review the works sent to them by the Journal or the units authorized by the Journal; they evaluate the works in an impartial and fair manner in accordance with their areas of expertise.
d) Reviewers are obliged to inform the editorial board of the Journal immediately if they find any violation of academic principles and ethical values, national or international principles or standards in the works they evaluate.
PUBLICATION POLICY
1) Only peer-reviewed works are published in Kocatepe Law Journal.
2) Kocatepe Law Journal adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and adopts the ethical publishing principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
3) The manuscripts to be published in the journal can be written in Turkish or English. The works submitted to the journal must comply with the spelling, spelling and citation rules.
4) Works are sent to the Journal via the Dergipark system. All submitted works must be original, unpublished and not in the evaluation process in another periodical.
5) Authors are deemed to have accepted that their works are ready for “publication” as submitted to the journal. Each work is reviewed by one of the editors and at least two referees. In the review, the editors reject the manuscripts that do not comply with the scientific criteria and the spelling rules stipulated for the journal and that are found to contain more than usual spelling mistakes. Within the scope of this review, a plagiarism check is also performed.
6) Peer review of the manuscripts is carried out within the framework of a double-blind refereeing system.In case a correction is requested, the author can only make changes within the framework of the specified corrections. After the corrections suggested by the referees are made by the author, the work is sent for peer review again if specified in the report.If one of the referee reports is positive and the other negative, a third referee evaluation is applied.
7) The opinions in the works published in the journal and the responsibility for these opinions belong to the author.
8) All works that do not comply with accepted ethical standards are removed from publication.This also includes works containing possible irregularities and nonconformities detected after publication.
9) Limited to the copies published by the Faculty; the financial rights of reproduction, dissemination, transmission to the public, processing and translation of the work accepted for publication are transferred to Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Law to be used in printed, visual, audio, digital, etc. media in Turkey and abroad. It is agreed by the authors that no royalties will be paid.
Our journal aims to contribute to the accumulation in the field of law by including academic and original studies in Turkish and English. In this context, peer-reviewed articles, reviews, reviews, translations and decision reviews will be included in all areas of law.
All scientific works submitted to our journal are first reviewed by the Editorial Board and then evaluated by national and international expert referees. Our journal uses a double blind review process.
The publication period of our journal is twice a year, April - October.
