Special Issue Policy

Konya Journal of Engineering Sciences (KONJES) can publish 1 or 2 special issues per year with the decision of the editor and editorial board. Interested parties can send their requests and ideas regarding the special issue by e-mail to the KONJES by introducing the scientific event they will hold. The editors and editorial board evaluate the requests and ideas, and if accepted, the process is started for a special issue.
The conditions for special numbers are given below.

Special Issue Theme

KONJES special issues are a collection of articles that focus on a specific research theme within the scope of the journal. It aims to contribute to the academic literature by bringing together different ideas, research and experiences.

KONJES may issue special issue(s) or call for special issues in line with the requests from researchers or organizers of scientific events such as symposiums, conferences, etc. with the decision of the editor and editorial board. In this context, KONJES editor and editorial board evaluates the special issue requests from the relevant parties.

After a quick preliminary review by KONJES editor and editorial board members, it is decided whether the articles submitted for consideration for the special issue will be published in the special issue.

In addition, KONJES may call for a special issue consisting of relevant research articles on an important and current topic with the decision of the editor and editorial board.

The main criteria in the evaluation of the special issue proposal are:
• Importance and timeliness of the topic or approach
• Innovation to add to the relevant literature
• Compliance with the journal's publication policy and scope

Special Issue Article Format

The process of articles to be submitted within the scope of the special issue will be carried out through the DergiPark platform. The number of articles to be included in the special issue should be planned to be maximum 20 articles. However, if deemed necessary, the editor and editorial board may change the number of articles to be published by prior announcement. Articles should be prepared in accordance with the template and spelling rules of Konya Journal of Engineering Sciences as in regular issues. In addition, the editor and editorial board may determine the maximum and minimum number of pages of the articles.

Special Issue Article Process (submission, review, and revision)

The refereeing process of the articles to be accepted within the scope of the Special Issue, which is deemed appropriate for publication by the editor and editorial board, is carried out by the special issue editor. KONJES editor-in-chief or the guest editor(s) invited by him/her will serve as the special issue editor. It is the responsibility of the special issue editor to ensure that the articles to be published in the special issue are appropriate to the theme and scope of the special issue, that the articles are submitted on time, the referee recommendations and the refereeing process. The article evaluation process is the same as in regular issues. In this process, KONJES field editors may also be assigned to assist the special issue editor.
