Abstract
Women were left in the background in the Western music just as in science and
philosophy throughout the history, because of the social beliefs and other
circumstances, it can’t be unseen that their creativity and contribution to music
have improved after the musical education they receive, because the personal
rights and freedom they acquired after the renaissance. This work focuses on how
the creator role in music which was under the dominance of men have changed
with the education given to women in the area of music and fine arts.
The artist who are mentioned in this paper; Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Clara Wieck
Schumann, have composed and performed lots of songs, lieds, symphonic works
and solo sonatas, as well as the works they did in parallel with these master
musicians and have performed their pieces in international tours.
