This study focuses from the perspective of the authority and procedures of
Traditional Turkish art music on the famous 'Kanun Concerto' by Hasan Ferid Alnar,
the highly respected member of The Turkish Five, who were sent at Ataturk's
request to study abroad in order to make a breakthrough in the field of music in the
early years of the Republic and who later laid the foundations of our music
revolution with their works. It includes the views on how this piece impacted the
Kanun 'symphonic instrument orchestra music' and some idea of musıc researches.
Hasan Ferid Alnar 's Kanun Concerto' instrument is also important in terms of
setting an example to other instruments as a traditional Turkish instrument. The first
execution of the work performed by the composer himself in Vienna in 1951 was in
later years also performed by the Ruhi Ayangil, Tahir Aydogdu and Halil Altinkopru
with stringed instrument orchestras.
