Though a definite date about the foundation of the guild of Janissaries is not known, it is an undeniable fact that they had an important mission in the enlargement of the country’s borders by being made up in the first conquest periods of the Ottomans. Company Charity Funds which are the smallest company of the guild of Janissaries are the manifestation of the conception which is based on solidarity and aims the help to the poor and the orphan brought to Ottoman society by Turkish-Islamic civilization. After the closure of the Guild of Janissaries in 1826, some of the decisions taken about the funds belonging to the guild and the military post and other commodities have been determined through the help of archive documents. It is understood from the later periods’ documents that the foundation commodities of the Guild of Janissaries and the lands decided to be belonging to no foundations were transferred to Darüşşafaka Association. In this context, in this study, general information about the charity funds of the Guild of Janissaries and guild companies and the decisions given by the administration about the assets of the funds after the closure of the guild have been approached in consideration of primary resources and Prime Ministry Ottoman Archive Documents.
