Adaptation of the Adult Career Concerns Inventory-Short Form into Turkish: A Validity and Reliability Study

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to adapt the Adult
Career Concerns Inventory-Short Form (ACCI-Short Form) into Turkish language
and to investigate the psychometric properties of the Turkish form. The sample
of the study included 594 undergraduate students (349 females, 238 males) from
a public university. Confirmatory factor analysis results revealed that the
four-factor model had good fit. Validity results using equivalent forms method
provided significant positive correlations between the subscales of the forms.
The Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient results for the exploration,
establishment, maintenance and disengagement subscales showed reliability
values of .88, .79, .78 and .87 respectively, while it was .84 for the entire
scale. The corrected item-total correlation values ranged from .56 to .79. In
conclusion, the Turkish version of the ACCI-Short Form was shown to be a valid
and reliable tool that can be used in measuring career concerns of university
students.

Yetişkin Kariyer Endişeleri Ölçeği Kısa Formu: Türkçeye Uyarlama, Geçerlik ve Güvenilirlik Çalışması

Abstract

Bu
çalışmanın amacı, Yetişkin Kariyer Endişeleri Ölçeği Kısa Formunun (YKEÖ-KF)
Türkçeye uyarlanması ve psikometrik özelliklerinin incelenmesidir. Bu yolla
yerli literatüre kariyer planlama konusunda önemli bir ölçme aracı
kazandırılacağı düşünülmektedir. Araştırmanın örneklemini bir devlet
üniversitesinde lisans eğitimine devam eden 594 öğrenci (349 kadın, 238 erkek)
oluşturmaktadır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi bulguları, dört faktörlü modelin
iyi uyuma sahip olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Eşdeğer ölçek geçerliği sonucunda
ise YKEÖ-KF’nin alt ölçekleriyle Öğrenci Kariyer Yapılandırma Envanteri’nin alt
ölçekleri arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı korelasyonlar saptanmıştır.
YKEÖ-KF’nin keşfetme, yerleşme, sürdürme ve geri çekilme alt ölçekleri için
Cronbach alfa güvenilirlik katsayısı sırasıyla .88, .79, .78 ve .87 olarak
bulunurken, tüm ölçek için .84 olarak bulunmuştur. Madde-toplam korelasyon
değerlerinin ise .56 ile .79 arasında değiştiği görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak,
YKEÖ-KF, üniversite öğrencilerinin kariyer endişelerini değerlendirmede
kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracıdır.
