Abstract

Adjustment is a natural process of people who face life events from birth to death. This process starts with a birth of a demand and then it disturbs established balances of the environment. İn order to re-establish the disturbed balances, human beings possess necessary mechanisms or they possess the potential to develop these mechanisms. The important parts of development and adjustment processes are reactions that are the result of cognitive evaluations of the demands, evoked reactions, and cognitive evaluation of the new situation. These parts may determine the criteria to separate healthy adjustment from unhealthy adjustment.
