Mağara Ayısı Klanı Filmini Feminist Distopyan Bir Perspektiften İzlemek

Year 2024, Volume: 1 Issue: 2, 95 - 110, 17.07.2024

Abstract

Bu amaçla, birinci bölümde öncelikle feminist ütopya ve feminist distopya kavramları üzerinde durulmuş; ikinci bölümde The Clan of the Cave Bear filmi feminist distopyan açıdan incelenmiştir.

Watching The Clan of the Cave Bear from a Feminist Dystopian Perspective

Year 2024, Volume: 1 Issue: 2, 95 - 110, 17.07.2024

Abstract

This study aims to point out the role of women in societies dominated by patriarchy. Through the film The Clan of the Cave Bear, the situation of women imprisoned in silence; the behavioral structures that a character, who is the subject of double marginalization because she is both a member of the group described as “Others” and a woman, is exposed to in a patriarchal society are revealed. The priorities of this study are to draw attention to the type of society dominated by masculine thought, to reveal the position of women in these societies, and to underline the importance of the equal positioning of all individuals for the development of societies. For this purpose, in the first part, the concepts of feminist utopia and feminist dystopia are discussed; in the second part, the film The Clan of the Cave Bear is analyzed from a feminist dystopian perspective.
