Kronotop Journal of Communication is an open-access, peer-reviewed, and international academic journal published by the Faculty of Communication at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. The journal aims to contribute to the field by publishing high-quality theoretical and empirical studies at the intersection of communication and the social sciences.
The title of the journal is derived from the concept of “chronotope,” which combines the notions of chronos (time) and topos (space). This concept refers to the interconnectedness of temporal and spatial dimensions, while also emphasizing the multilayered, relational, and dynamic nature of communication processes. In this regard, the journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for scholarly work that engages with communication across diverse cultural, geographical, and historical contexts.
The journal welcomes original research articles and review papers, as well as book reviews, film analyses, and interviews in areas such as media studies, journalism, public relations, advertising, cinema, digital communication, cultural studies, political communication, and related fields within the social sciences. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, and the journal adheres to internationally recognized standards of academic publishing and research ethics.
The Kronotop Journal of Communication is published biannually, in January and July. It accepts manuscripts written in Turkish and English. The journal addresses a broad academic audience, including scholars, researchers, and graduate students interested in communication studies.
