Manuscripts submitted to Cappadocia Journal of Health Sciences for publication are reviewed by the managing editors in terms of format, language and publication principles. Manuscripts that are found unsuitable in these aspects are sent back to the author. Manuscripts that are deemed appropriate are submitted to the Editorial/Advisory Board after the information revealing the identity of the author is concealed. The Editorial/Advisory Board evaluates the manuscripts in terms of scientific quality, originality and integrity of the journal. For the articles deemed appropriate, the editor in charge for the double-blind review process is initiated.
The referees make an evaluation within the 3-week period given to them. They observe the principles of scientific ethics in their evaluations, use constructive language within the framework of academic etiquette and operate the principle of impartiality. They do not share the texts they evaluate until the article is published and adhere to the principle of confidentiality. They refuse to evaluate the article and inform the editors when they notice information that may reveal the identity of the author and when they realize that there is a conflict of interest. If one of the referee reports is positive and the other is negative, the manuscript may be sent to a third referee or the editorial board may make its final decision based on the reports.
Corrections may be requested from the author according to the referee reports. The author takes into account the criticism, suggestions and correction requests of the referees and, if necessary, the editorial board, and prepares a report indicating the changes in the text and the suggestions rejected, if any, with the reasons. The revised texts are evaluated by the managing editor by comparing them with the referee reports. The editor-in-chief decides on publication according to the final version of the manuscript. Manuscripts that are decided for publication are read one last time by the managing editor to ensure that they comply with the journal's standards in terms of spelling, punctuation, in-text references and bibliography. Manuscripts that are decided for publication are placed in order as of the date of acceptance, but editors may make some changes depending on journalism such as file preparation, timeliness, necessity and completeness.
Typeset manuscripts are sent to the author for final reading before being made available for open access. At this stage, the author cannot withdraw the manuscript or request major corrections that would require the manuscript to be re-sorted, but can request mandatory, minor corrections.
