EFFECTIVENESS OF WATSU APPLICATION IN PATIENTS WITH FIBROMYALGIA

Year 2025, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 4 - 11, 21.04.2025

Abstract

Objective: This study was designed to examine the effectiveness of Watsu in fibromyalgia patients. Method: Studies to be included in the research were identified using the keywords "fibromyalgia" and "Watsu" from studies conducted between 2004 and 2024, searched in databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, and Dergipark. Findings: The sample of the intervention studies included fibromyalgia patients treated with Watsu, ranging from a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 17 participants. The study found that Watsu had positive effects on pain, quality of life, and depressive symptoms in fibromyalgia patients.
Conclusion and Recommendations: The results demonstrate that the Watsu method has significant therapeutic outcomes in fibromyalgia patients. However, there is a noticeable lack of new studies, especially randomized controlled clinical trials, to confirm its effectiveness and strengthen the evidence.

FİBROMİYALJİLİ HASTALARDA WATSU UYGULAMASININ ETKİNLİĞİ

Year 2025, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 4 - 11, 21.04.2025

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma, Watsu'nun fibromiyalji hastalarındaki etkinliğini incelemektir amacıyla planlanmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırmaya dâhil edilecek çalışmaların belirlenmesi "fibromyalgia" ve "Watsu" anahtar kelimeleri kullanılarak 2004-2024 yılları arasında yapılan çalışmalardan, Google Akademik, PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus ve Dergipark veri tabanlarında yapılmıştır. Bulgular: İncelemeye alınan müdahale çalışmaların örneklemini min5-max.17 Watsu uygulamasıyla tedavi edilen fibromiyalji hastaları oluşturmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda Watsu uygulamasının fibromiyaljili hastalarda ağrı, yaşam kalitesi ve depresif semptomlar üzerinde olumlu etkileri olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç ve Öneriler: Sonuçlar; Watsu yönteminin fibromiyaljili hastalarda büyük terapötik sonuçlara sahip olduğu gösterilmektedir. Ancak, etkinliğini doğrulamak ve kanıtları güçlendirmek amacıyla yeni çalışmaların, özellikle randomize kontrollü klinik denemelerin eksikliği fark edilmektedir.
