Abstract

In 1908, after the proclamation of the Constitutional Monarchy, the Committee of Union and Progress, which ruled the country, was to realize the economic development of the Ottoman Empire in a short time. Despite the fact that in the first years the country shaped the economy in line with the free economic thought, it adopted a national economic policy with the dominance of the Turks in the party since 1911 and carried out the economic policies in line with this idea. In these years, the ideologists of the Party of Union and Progress began to publish articles in order to create public opinion in favor of national economics. Furthermore, the Union and Progress have directly financed and published newspapers and magazines to shape the country's economic and political politics. The Turk Yurdu, which is the subject of this study, is one of the journals written by the party ideologists and the Party of Union and Progress. The Turk Yurdu mentioned the economic problems of the country and stated that the solution to the problems was the idea of national economy. In this study, the economic problems of the Turk Yurdu were examined and the solution proposals of the Turk Yurdu to the economic problems of the period were explained.

Osmanlı Devlet’inde Milli İktisat Düşüncesi ve Türk Yurdu Dergisi

Abstract

1908’de Meşrutiyet’in ilanından sonra ülkeyi yöneten İttihat Terakki Partisi’nin amacı kısa sürede Osmanlı Devleti’nin iktisadi kalkınmasını gerçekleştirmekti. İlk yıllarda ekonomi politikaları liberalizm doğrultusunda şekillendirilmesine karşın 1911’den itibaren partide Türkçülerin hakim olmasıyla milli iktisat politikası benimsenmiş ve politikalar bu düşünce doğrultusunda yürütülmeye başlanmıştır. Bu yıllarda İttihat ve Terakki Partisi ideologları da dönemin basınında milli iktisat düşüncesi lehine kamuoyu oluşturmak amacıyla yazılar yayımlanmaya başlamıştır. Ayrıca İttihat ve Terakki Partisi, ülkenin iktisadi ve siyasi siyasetini şekillendirmek için doğrudan gazete ve dergileri finanse etmiş ve yayımlamıştır. Bu çalışmanın konusu olan Türk Yurdu da İttihat ve Terakki Partisi’nin finanse ettiği ve parti ideologların yazı yazdığı dergilerden biridir. Türk Yurdu, Osmanlı Devleti’nin ekonomi sorunlarına değinmiş ve çözüm olarak milli iktisat düşüncesini önermiştir. Bu çalışmada Türk Yurdu’nda çıkan iktisadi yazılar incelenerek iktisadi sorunlara Türk Yurdu’nun getirdiği çözüm önerileri anlatılmıştır.
