Tüp, İkiz ve Üçüz Bebeklerin TEOAE ve Latans Sürelerinin Karşılaştırılması

Year 2018, Volume: 13 Issue: 3, 72 - 76, 15.11.2018

Abstract

Comparison of TEOAE and Latency Times of Tube Babies, Twins and Triplets

Year 2018, Volume: 13 Issue: 3, 72 - 76, 15.11.2018
https://doi.org/10.17517/ksutfd.418312

Abstract

Objective:
To
compare the TEOAE(transient evoked otoacoustic emission) and the latency times
of the tube babies, the twin and the triplet babies.

Materials
and methods:
The TEOAE and the latency times of 66
babies (32 female, 34 male) who had newborn hearing screening, whose ages
between 6 days to 150 days, were compared.

Results:
When the left and the right ear latency times of  all of the patients were compared a
statistically significant difference was found. The 4 kHz TEOAEs of the left
and the right ear of the tube babies and the twins were found different.

Conclusion:
Otoacoustic emissions were gained more from the right ear than the left. When
the tube babies were compared with the normal babies the left and the right ear
latency times were different from each other. These differences may be due to the
cochlear physiology, the cochlea maturation, the genes or the antenatal period.
