Year 2024, Volume: 19 Issue: 2, 21 - 28
https://doi.org/10.17517/ksutfd.1280990

Abstract

Objective: This study was conducted as a quasi-experimental study to evaluate the effect of video training on the prevention of the risk of developing venous thromboembolism in the lower extremities after coronary bypass surgery.
Materials and Methods: 42 patients were included in the experimental group and 42 patients in the control group according to the sample selection in groups with a certain population. Data were collected with the Patient Information Form, Venous Circulation Evaluation Form, and Wearing Compression Elastic Stocking Evaluation Form. Video-assisted training was given to the experimental group, and the training that existed in the clinical routine was delivered to the control group.
Results: There was no redness, pain, or burning in the extremities of the patients in the experimental group (p<0.001). It was found that the patients in the experimental group knew how to wear elastic socks, that there should be no wrinkles while wearing them, knew how to measure their foot pulse after taking them off, and knew how to measure leg circumference (p<0.001). It was determined that all patients did not have bruising in the extremities when they took off the socks (p<0.05). It was found that the patients in the experimental group did not have tingling, burning, or itching in their feet when they took off their pressure elastic socks (p<0.05). It was determined that the patients in the experimental group had high scores on the Questionnaire Using Compressed Elastic Stockings (p<0.001).
Conclusion: It was found that patients who required experiments based on the effect of video training on the risk of developing venous thromboembolism in the lower extremities after coronary bypass surgery had less deep vein thrombosis, and the information about the flexible socks they wore and the users were correct.

Koroner Bypass Cerrahisi Sonrası Alt Ekstremitelerde Venöz Tromboemboli Gelişme Riskinin Önlenmesinde Video Eğitiminin Etkisi: Yarı Deneysel Çalışma

Year 2024, Volume: 19 Issue: 2, 21 - 28
https://doi.org/10.17517/ksutfd.1280990
