Birinci Basamak Hekimleri için Zor Bir Tanı: PFAPA Sendromu (Periyodik Ateş, Aftöz Stomatit, Farenjit ve Adenit birlikteliği)

Year 2012, Volume: 4 Issue: 3, 69 - 72, 01.12.2012

Abstract

A Diagnostic Challenge for Primary Care Physicians: PFAPA Syndrome (Periodic Fevers With Aphthous Stomatitis, Pharyngitis, And Adenitis)

Year 2012, Volume: 4 Issue: 3, 69 - 72, 01.12.2012

Abstract

PFAPA, characterized by periodic episodes of high fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and cervical adenitis, is a non-hereditary syndrome. Admission with stomatitis, fever, pharyngitis and adenitis is known to hold an important place in the pediatric patient population of family medicine practice. Our objective with this review is to provide information about PFAPA syndrome, which is not yet well-recognized by primary care physicians. PFAPA is a non-common disorder, but should be kept in mind for the patients that admitted with periodic fever, pharyngitis, and adenitis.
