Galactogogues

Year 2018, Volume: 10 Issue: 6, 28 - 31, 15.11.2018

Abstract

Abstract

Galactogogues are medications or products believed to assist initiation and aug-ment the maternal milk. Human milk production is a complex physiological processthat is affected by emotional and hormonal factors especially the prolactin. The help for the women having low milk supply may be evaluated by lactation experts for individual needs. In this review, we aimed to discuss the current knowledge about galactogogues.
