ABD TELEVİZYONLARlNDA CİNSELLİK

Abstract

Amerika Birleşik Devletleri özel televizyon kanallarının en çok olduğu ülkelerden birisidir. Amerika'da şiddet içeren yayınlar kırk yıldan, cinsellik üzerine yapılan yayınlar ise yirmi yıldan bu yana tartışılmaktadır. Öyle ki, FCC Federal Communication Commission , FTC Federal Trade Commission , NFD National Federation for Decency gibi federal resmi otoritelerin bu konulardaki denetimini yeterli görmeyentoplum kesimleri National Council of Churches, Children Now Kaiser Family Foundation ve United Methodist Women's Monitoring Project gibi sivil toplum örgütleri oluşturmuşlar ve üniversitelere araştırmalar yaptırmışlardır. Parlamentoda baskı grupları da oluşturan bu toplumsal kuruluşlar, ayrıca bu tür programların sporsoru olan firmaların mallarının boykot edilmesi gibi etkili eylemler de ortaya koymuşlardır.
