Within the context of this article, policies on terrorism issue conducted by the U.S. Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama are researched and compared. In this respect, based on the current literature, the U.S. foreign policy and the role and power of the U.S. President in foreign policy, general foreign policy in President Bush term, global crisis during this period and terrorism policy of Bush; and general foreign policy in President Obama term, global crisis during this period and terrorism policy of Obama have been analysed and the policies of Bush and Obama on terrorism have been compared. In conclusion, the result that policies and strategies of these two U.S. Presidents on foreign policy, national security and terrorism differentiate substantially has been reached.
Bu makale kapsamında ABD başkanları George W. Bush ile Barack Obama’nın terörizme karşı uygulamış oldukları politikalar araştırılmakta ve karşılaştırılmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda mevcut literatürün taranması neticesinde; ABD dış politikası ve ABD Başkanının dış politikaya ilişkin yetkileri ve rolü, Başkan Bush dönemi genel dış politikası, yaşanan küresel krizler ve Bush’un terörizm politikası ile Başkan Obama dönemi genel dış politikası, yaşanan küresel krizler ve Obama’nın terörizm politikası analiz edilerek, Bush ve Obama’nın terörizme yönelik politikaları karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak her iki Başkanın dış politika, ulusal güvenlik ve terörizme ilişkin politikalarının ve uygulamalarının oldukça farklılaşmakta olduğu neticesi elde edilmiştir.
