  • Conservation, renovation, and restoration,
  • History and theory,
  • Building technologies and building physics,
  • Building elements and materials,
  • The physical environment control,
  • Sustainability and ecology,
  • Design and planning education

The journal covers these subject areas but is open to original scientific studies that are interdisciplinary and related to space.

The journal publishes original scientific research articles that have not been published elsewhere before and have not been submitted to another journal for publication at the same time, addressing a problem within a specific method framework in current topics in the field and contributing to the existing literature. The journal follows an open-access policy and the full texts of the published articles are accessible electronically, and online.

Types of Articles

Research Article: Original scientific research articles that define the problem based on a theoretical ground, and include the results and discussions obtained through a specific method. The word count of these articles, including abstract, text, and references, should not exceed 7500 and the page count should not exceed 20. They are decided to be published after the double-blind peer review process.

Review: Research articles that present the existing knowledge within a specific field or topic and make evaluations in light of this information, identify a specific problem by the researcher, propose solutions, or develop methods by interpreting the literature knowledge in the field. The word count of these articles, including abstract, text, and references, should not exceed 6500 and the page count should not exceed 20. They are decided to be published after the double-blind peer review process.

Reviews can be descriptive, which provides basic information about the book without evaluation, or critical, which evaluates and make some judgments about the book. In a critical book review, it is expected that the reviewer will reveal what he/she understood from the purpose of the book and the author, to what extent the author succeeded in this, and the scientific quality and significance of the book (Şişman, 2005). These articles are limited to 1000-1500 words and no peer review process is conducted for publication.
