The Flotation of Bituminous Coal Slime in Mechanical, Column and Jameson Cell

Abstract

This study involved cleaning of bituminous coal slime obtained from the Zonguldak coal basin having
high ash content (%49.55) by using different type flotation machines. The experimental studies were
conducted using mechanical, column and Jameson cell and then a comparative evaluation was
performed. In column flotation, high froth thickness and wash water addition made it possible to obtain
cleaner coals when compared to those of mechanical and Jameson cell. However, the value of
combustible recovery obtained from column flotation was found lower than those of other cells.
Although the identical combustible recoveries were obtained from mechanical and Jameson flotation
cell by applying scavenger stage, the ash rejection efficiency of Jameson cell was determined to be
higher.

BİTÜMLÜ KÖMÜR ŞLAMININ MEKANİK, KOLON VE JAMESON HÜCRESİNDE FLOTASYONU

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Zonguldak kömür havzasından elde edilen yüksek kül içerikli (%49.55) bitümlü kömür
şlamının değişik tipteki flotasyon hücreleri ile temizlenmesini kapsamaktadır. Mekanik, kolon ve
Jameson hücresi ile ayrı ayrı deneyler yapılarak flotasyon performansları karşılaştırmalı olarak
değerlendirilmiştir. Buna göre; kolon flotasyonundaki yüksek köpük derinliği ve yıkama suyu ilavesi
mekanik ve Jameson hücresine göre daha temiz kömürlerin elde edilmesini sağlamıştır. Ancak,
yanabilir verim içeriği diğer hücre verilerine göre daha düşük bulunmuştur. Jameson ve mekanik hücre
flotasyonunda süpürme kademesinin uygulanması ile benzer yanabilir verimler elde edilmiş ancak kül
giderme başarısının Jameson hücresinde daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır.
