The Effects of Important Operating Parameters on Air Hold-up and Air Entrainment Rate in Jameson Cell

Abstract

In this study, the effects of important operating parameters (free jet length, jet velocity, nozzle diameter,
downcomer diameter and APR:air/pulp ratio) on hold-up and air entrainment rate in downcomer with a
suitable frother dosage (air/water system) in Jameson cell were investigated. Hold-up measurements
were done with five operating parameters by using their different range values. The results of the
experimental studies show that hold-up and air entrainment rate increase with increasing free jet length
and jet velocity, increasing nozzle diameter increases the air quantity but decreases hold-up,
increasing downcomer diameter increases hold-up but the air entrainment rate does not change

JAMESON FLOTASYON HÜCRESİNDE ÖNEMLİ ÇALIŞMA PARAMETRELERİNİN HAVA TUTUNUMU VE GİREN HAVA MİKTARINA ETKİLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Jameson flotasyon hücresinde önemli çalışma parametrelerinin (Jet uzunluğu, jet hızı,
nozul çapı, düşeyboru çapı ve APR oranı:hava/besleme debisi oranı) ikili faz (hava/su) sisteminde,
uygun köpürtücü dozajında, düşeyboru içindeki hava tutunumu (air hold-up) ve giren hava miktarı
üzerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, beş çalışma parametresinin farklı değer aralıkları kullanılarak
hava tutunumu ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda jet uzunluğunun ve jet hızının artması ile
hava tutunumu ve giren hava miktarının arttığı; nozul çapının artması ile hava tutunumunun azaldığı
ancak giren hava miktarının arttığı; düşeyboru çapının artması ile hava tutunumunun arttığı, fakat giren
hava miktarının değişmediği tespit edilmiştir.
