The Share of Coal in Turkey's Primary Energy Consumption Between 1970 and 2000

Year 2002, Volume: 41 Issue: 2, 31 - 42, 01.06.2002

Abstract

Production and consumption of energy per unit person in a country is an important parameter indicating the level of development. But, as a developing nation, the energy consumption of Turkey stili remains at low levels. Although most of the energy demand is met by hydroelectric, coal-fired power stations and recently by natural gas, the use of natural Resources constitutes about 37 % of the total demand. Turkey has large coal reserves particularly tho'se of lignite. However, as the natural resources are not effectively used, due to inadequate policies, she has become dependent on imported energy sources. in this study, the status of coal in the general energy demand of Turkey in the last 30year period is examined by statistical data, and the future of coal is forecasted in order to make right decision for the future energy demand Turkey

1970-2000 YILLARI ARASI TÜRKİYE'NİN BİRİNCİL ENERJİ TÜKETİMİNDE KÖMÜRÜN YERİ

Year 2002, Volume: 41 Issue: 2, 31 - 42, 01.06.2002
